Administration Board to discuss current situation of Sri Lanka's Ruhuna University

The Administration Board of Sri Lanka's Ruhuna University has summoned an urgent meeting to discuss the current situation in the university.

Vice Chancellor of the Ruhuna University, Prof. Susirith Mendis has said the meeting is to be held tomorrow (23).

Prof. Mendis has told the local media that an internal investigation will be conducted regarding the incident where he was assaulted by a group of students on Wednesday (20).

The Vice Chancellor told the media earlier that the incident occurred when he had intervened to settle a dispute between two student groups within the university premises.

Meanwhile, three police teams are conducting investigations to arrest the culprits of the attack that also injured two other faculty members.
