Sri Lanka to open six new centers to sell gems and jewellery to tourists

Sri Lanka's National Gem and Jewellery Authority has decided to establish six new centers for the tourists to purchase gems.

Minister of Environment Anura Priyadharshana Yapa says that the aim of this move is to facilitate the tourists to buy gems freely without the involvement of third parties.
Accordingly, new centers will be set up in the Katunayake airport, Colombo Green Tower, Kandy, Benthota, Galle and Ratnapura, said the Chairman of the National Gem and Jewellery Authority Anil Koswaththa.

He said the gem and jewellery outlet in Colombo Green Tower is now under construction and it would be opened within two months.
