Sri Lanka Reconciliation Commission schedules more public sittings

Sri Lanka's Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC) appointed by President Mahinda Rajapaksa to report on the lessons to be learnt from seven-year period prior to the end of war, has scheduled more public sittings for a two-month period from this month.
The LLRC has scheduled field visits to Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu from September 17 to 19 where it will hold public sittings.
The Commission will be visiting Jaffna on October 9 to 11 to conduct public sittings followed by visits to the Eastern Province for public sittings.
The Commission held sessions in Vavuniya on August 14th and 15th.
The Commission has also called on the public who wish to make submissions to it to contact the Commission by writing to its Secretary at LLRC, Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute, 24, Horton Place, Colombo 7.
