The Sri Lankan government is planning to hold a job fair for the youth in the war-ravaged North, the Government Information Department announced.
The event, to be held in Vavuniya on September 25, 26th and 27th, is planned as a move to especially integrate the former LTTE fighters into the society following their rehabilitation.
The government has released 4,000 ex-combatants after rehabilitation at special rehabilitation centers. These combatants have been given vocational training to prepare them to earn a living.
Commissioner General of Rehabilitation Brigadier Sudantha Ranasinghe has urged the business community to take part in the job fair to provide opportunities for the rehabilitated youth and fulfill their Corporate Social Responsibility.
