FACETS Sri Lanka 2010, the International Gem and Jewellery Show will be open from today till September 5th at the Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre in Colombo.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the exhibition which was held annually since 1991.
The organizer of the show, Sri Lanka Gem and Jewellery Association (SLGJA) promises the FACETS 2010 to be 'Bigger and Better' than ever before with hundreds of local and foreign exhibitors showcasing their gem and jewellery products.
A large number of influential trade visitors from around the world are expected to visit the exhibition.
On display will be Sri Lanka's finest gems and Jewellery. The fair is to showcase a wide variety of sapphires and gemstones from producers and wholesalers from all the main producing areas of Sri Lanka.
A Special Collector's gemstone corner will provide the visitor with the opportunity of viewing some of the rare and important gemstone pieces and materials.
The exhibition will be spread over two large convention halls. The main hall will mainly display precious and semiprecious gems and the second hall will be exclusively dedicated to jewellery, lapidary, and machinery items.
Producers and wholesalers from the main gemstone producing countries in Africa, Asia, South America, and Australia are being invited to exhibit their gemstone products at the show, the organizers say.
