Sri Lanka's Marxist Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) affiliated National Trade Union Center (NTUC) is to commence a campaign to distribute leaflets among the public tomorrow (7) to create awareness on the need for salary increments and the rising cost of living.

The NTUC leaflet distributing campaign is to commence tomorrow opposite the Fort Railway Station in Colombo.

NTUC sources told ColomboPage that the campaign is aimed at creating awareness among the people of the need for a salary increment to the workers in the public, private and estate sector employees.

Over 100 trade unions affiliated to the NTUC are to meet today to formulate the agenda to launch joint trade union action demanding salary increments for the working masses
