Sri Lankan university student escapes from hospital after failed attempt to commit suicide

A Sri Lankan university student, who was rescued by a soldier and policeman in Bambalapitiya during a suicide attempt , has escaped from the Kalubowila Hospital.



Director of the Kalubowila Hospital, Dr. Anil Jayasinghe said the girl was out of danger, but had escaped from the hospital with the help of her mother last evening.
The student had jumped into the sea yesterday afternoon and was rescued by the soldier and policeman who were on duty at a checkpoint on the Marine Drive.
The police have said that they hoped to record a statement from her and would be send a team to her house in Ja-Ela.
