Sri Lanka Navy brought home 13 Sri Lankan fishermen who were released by Indian authorities yesterday (June 30).
Indian authorities have taken the fishermen into custody when their fishing trawlers were damaged in high seas due to the cyclone Leila in May.
Indian Coast Guard Ship Vajra has brought the released fishermen to the Indo-Lanka International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) in the seas north of Kankasanthurai (KKS) yesterday evening and handed over to the Sri Lanka Navy Ship Ranawickrama dispatched to bring the fishermen to KKS harbour.
The Navy has provided transport facilities for the fishermen to their home towns in the South.
