Missing Sri Lankan fishermen beach in South Africa

A Sri Lankan fishing boat missing for five months at sea has reached the shores of South Africa, local news reports said.


South African Coast Guard has recued the boat with four fishermen while it was drifting close to the shore.

The boat with four fishermen including the owner of the boat has reportedly set sail from Beruwela and it had gone missing from the 22nd of February this year. The fishermen have been identified as Sarath Perera, Suresh, Bermy and R. Manoj.
Sri Lankan Ministry of External Affairs is in discussions with the South African authorities to repatriate the fishermen
