High Security Zones in Sri Lanka's North will remain Minister

The High Security Zones (HSZ) established in Northern Sri Lanka will not be removed as they are essential to ensure the security in the region, the government spokesman said today.

Addressing media, Minister of Mass Media and Communication Keheliya Rambukwella said today that the war against the terrorists was won due to such HSZs and those security rings are mandatory for the country's security.
As the state lands are not available to maintain HSZs in the North the government is forced to use private land in strategic areas, the Minister explained.
Tamil political parties continually demand the removal of high security zones from their land in the North.
