Budget passed in Sri Lanka parliament

Sri Lanka parliament today passed the 2010 Budget with a majority of 68 votes.



The budget presented by the government for the remainder of the year received 139 votes in favor and 71 against.
The major opposition United National Party voted against but the UNP MP Abdul Carder voted for the bill.
Minister Wimal Weerawansa who is on an indefinite fast was absent for voting.
