The CPI on Tuesday said Colombo should allow journalists from Tamil Nadu assess progress made in rehabilitation of displaced Tamils in Sri Lanka. "If the island government does not do so, the Centre should reconsider its relations with that country," CPI state secretary D Pandiyan told reporters in Tamil Nadu onday.
Tamils in Sri Lanka are still being kept in transit camps despite the Centre allocating Rs 1,900 crore for their rehabiliation, he alleged.
Pandiyan also announced that CPI three-day state council meet would be held at Sivaganga from July 31.
CPI General Secretary A B Bardhan, Deputy General Secretary Sudhakar Reddy and Executive member D Raja are expected to participate in the meet, Pandiyan said.
