Sri Lanka's Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said the 2010 budget is a reflection of the government's development path for the next few years.
Rambukwella told media soon after the budget presentation today that the 2010 budget is a precursor to the 2011 budget where the government would provide a full scale budget.
However, he said that the government through this budget has focused on key areas such as development and reconstruction.
"It is a development oriented budget," he said.
Referring to the opposition allegation that the budget has been presented according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) dictates, Rambukwella said the government has not done any such thing and that the IMF has in fact decided to disburse the third tranche and a grant due to the government's proper economic management.
