Sri Lankan government to eventually abrogate the PTA and lift Emergency Regulations

The Sri Lankan government has said that it would eventually abrogate the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) and lift the Emergency Regulations.
Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella has said that the government would eventually abrogate the PTA, adding that for the first time after 35 years, the government has relaxed very salient parts of the Emergency Regulations.

He has told the local media that the government has relaxed 30-35% of the Emergency Regulations within a month and a half.
He has said that barriers have been removed and roads opened since the end of the war.
Rambukwella has observed that the government is moving cautiously towards normalcy, as the country has just completed 365 days after ending a 30 year long war.
Sri Lankan government last month relaxed several provisions in the Emergency Regulations without causing any detriment to the national security in order to return the country to normalcy and accelerate development.
