Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa Tuesday participated in the Vesak 2010 film festival award ceremony held at the Presidential Secretariat.
Independent Indian film maker Vinod Ganatra received an award for an outstanding production from the President.
VESAK 2010 Festival included fFilm exhibitions and competitions for short, feature, documentary, animated, mobile films and workshops on Buddhism and film making, a Buddhist art and photography exhibition, Vesak e-Card competition, animated pandols, and several unique Vesak attractions.
The Festival was staged in collaboration with the National Film Corporation of Sri Lanka at the BMICH.
The Chairman of the organizing committee Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa, Minister Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena, Chairman of the Film Corporation Kumar Abeysinghe, and Chairman of the Light of Asia Foundation Naveen Gunaratna, were also present.
