Sri Lanka President receives Rs. 10-million donation for hostel project at National Namal Uyana

May 23,  Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa today received a Rs. 10 million donation from Teiji Oomori, the president of Chiba Kankyo Business Co. Ltd, at President's House yesterday for a new hostel project at National Namal Uyana.

President Rajapaksa handed over the checque to Lahiru Dileepa Fonseka, Coordinating Director of the project. Ven. Vanawasala Rahula Thero founder of National Namal Uyana, Minister Dullas Alahapperuma, Secretary to the President Lalith Weerathunge were also present.
The national Namal Uyana in Galkiriyagama, 158 miles north of Colombo has the largest pink quartz mountain in Asia. The forest was declared a National Forest Reserve on May 8, 2005 by the then Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
