Sri Lanka President participates in religious ceremony for fallen heroes

President Mahinda Rajapaksa and First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa participated in the Ranaviru Day commemoration Pirith ceremony held at the BMICH on Saturday (May 22). The ceremony was organized by the Ministry of Defence.



About three thousand Maha Sangha from all over the country chanted Pirith to convey merits to the fallen heroes.

Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa, Secretary to the President Lalith Weerathunge, Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, Army Commander Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, Navy Commander Vice Admiral Thisara Samarasinghe, IGP.Mahinda Balasooriya and the other distinguished guests participated.
