Presidential Media Unit Director Mahinda Illeperuma has asked Managing Director of Lakbima newspapers and Western Provincial Councilor Thilanga Sumathipala to reduce the newspaper’s anti-government stance and not to publish any stories or photographs promoting General Sarath Fonseka.
Mahinda Illeperuma who was a former employee of Lakbima had made this request after personally meeting with Thilanga Sumathipala and Lakbima newspaper Editor, Sundara Nihathamana de Mel on Wednesday (21).
He had also told Thilanga and Sundara that if the General made too much noise, steps would be taken to
expose a story of a gold robbery that had taken place in Vellamulliyawaikkal.
