President plans on ousting Wimal and getting Somawansa closer to face the General’s challenge

Sources from Temple Trees told Lanka News Web that the President has planned to cast aside the National Freedom Front (NFF) from the government in order to rebuild an alliance with the JVP.

The humiliating defeat of the NFF representatives at the Southern Provincial Council, especially the defeat of Wimal Weerawansa’s brother, Sarath Weerawansa, at the election had compelled the President to make this decision. In fact, the President had reportedly said he could just imagine the response Wimal Weerawansa would receive given the number of votes received by his brother.

Sources said the President has therefore decided on ousting the NFF from the government and looking at the possibility of forming an alliance with Somawansa Amerasinghe’s JVP in order to prevent the possible entry of General Sarath Fonseka into politics at the next Presidential election.
