Sri Lanka Army hunts for deserters

The Sri Lanka Army says that it has commenced an island wide hunt to apprehend the army deserters in the country.
Military spokesman, Major General Ubaya Medawala said since November 01 2010, the Army has arrested 8,765 Army deserters. Among them are 32 officers, the spokesman added.

Defence witnesses to give evidence at former Army commander's second court martial today

The second court martial probing charges against Sri Lanka's former Army Commander and current DNA parliamentarian General (Retired) Sarath Fonseka will resume its sittings today.
