Group protests in Kelaniya calling for the re-instatement of sacked Sri Lankan deputy minister

A group of people carried out a protest today in Kelaniya demanding the re-instatement of sacked deputy minister Mervyn Silva in his deputy ministerial post and as SLFP organizer for the Kelaniya electorate.

Controversial Sri Lanka Deputy Minister of Media resigns

Deputy Minister Mervyn Silva who swore in as the Deputy Minister of Media on April 23 has submitted his resignation to the President Mahinda Rajapaksa this morning.

He swore in as the Deputy Minister of Highways later in the day before the President.
