Opposition Leader of Sri Lanka Ranil Wickremasinghe prepares to present to parliament a list of names of missing persons in the Northern Province.
The list reportedly comprises names of 472 people who had gone missing during the period of the war in Mannar.
Bishop of Mannar, Rt. Rev. Rayappu Joseph and the Association of Families Searching for Disappeared Persons have requested Wickremasinghe to table the list of names in parliament.
However, Wickremasinghe has reportedly said that he would he would take the matter up in parliament, but could not guarantee that the government would address the matter.
The Association president has said that the families of missing persons are seeking closure so that they can conduct religious rites.
