Sri Lanka's former Chief Justice to reply to Bribery Commission on May 17th

Former Chief Justice of Sri Lanka Dr. Shirani Bandaranayake is to respond to the Commission to Investigate allegations of Bribery Or Corruption (CIABOC) on the allegation of non-declaration of assets and liabilities on May 17th. Dr. Bandaranayake is to also file her objections to the allegations that day. The impeached Chief Justice and her lawyers requested time last month to file her objections to certain Commissioners whose family members had played a significant role in favor of the impeachment process against her. Dr. Bandaranayake has also informed the CIABOC that she was willing to respond to the allegations leveled against her if the Commission informed her of the allegations. Two officers of the CIABOC had reportedly provided the former Chief Justice the allegations against her. The Commission comprises Chairman, Justice Jagath Balapatabendi and Commissioners Justice L.K. Wimalachandra and Dr. Jayantha Wickramaratne. -->
