Sri Lanka President, Opposition Leader discuss developing J R Jayewardene Centre

Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa and the Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe Friday (March 08) met at the Temple Trees and held discussions on developing the J R Jayewardene Centre in Colombo as a center for research and study on the lives and times of Sri Lankan leaders.


During the discussion the President highlighted the importance of developing the center to enhance the knowledge of those interested in Sri Lankan politics, students of politics and those actively involved in politics
Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa, Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga, Secretary General of Parliament Dhammika Dissanayake, Public Trustee Sarath Seneviratne, late President J R Jayewardene's grandson Amrith Jayewardene and officials of the Centre were also present.
