Sri Lanka Cricket to 'censure and advise' paceman Lasith Malinga

The Chief Executive Officer of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Ajit Jayasekara, who conducted an inquiry into the recent behavior of bowler Lasith Malinga towards media personnel, has recommended to 'censure and advise' the cricketer on his behavior.
The Executive Committee of SLC Tuesday directed Jayasekara to conduct an inquiry into Malinga's interaction with the local media last Monday (March 04) at the cricket headquarters when he arrived to resolve the contract signing row involving national cricketers. "Mr Ajit Jayasekera, CEO SLC, conducted an inquiry on the Lasith Malinga incident and in his report to the Executive Committee, recommended that Malinga be censured and advised on his behavior when dealing with the press in the future, considering his standing in the game," SLC said. The SLC executive committee has accepted his recommendations and appointed a 3-member committee to advise Malinga on his behavior. The Executive Committee appointed Camillus Abeygunawardena (Retired DIG and Ex Co Member), Harigupta Rohanadeera (Attorney at Law and Ex Co Member) and Ajit Jayasekera (CEO, SLC) to speak to Lasith Malinga on this matter.
