Sri Lanka Marxist party blames government for creating a base for Tami Nadu ire against country

Sri Lanka's Marxist party Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) says the current government had created the basis for Tamil Nadu to react in a hostile manner towards Sri Lanka.
JVP parliamentary group leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake said the government failed in taking measures to bring normalcy back to the lives of the Tamil people in the North and the Tamil Nadu politicians are now using this issue against the country. Referring to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa Jeyaram's call to the Indian government to take over the Kachchativu Island, Dissanayake added that the JVP's stance is that the island belonged to Sri Lanka under the agreement signed during Mrs. Bandaranaike and that Sri Lanka should not hand it over to India. According to Dissanayake, the Kachchativu issue, the issue over Sri Lankan cricketers participating in the IPL tournament and the attacks on Sri Lankans visiting South India are not isolated incidents. "They are all caused due to failures in Sri Lanka's diplomacy. India and the US are working towards creating a separate state in the country. We call on the government to act diplomatically," he said. -->
