Sri Lanka's Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva to head the activities at UNHRC

Sri Lanka's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, Ambassador Ravinatha Aryasinha, is to head the activities at the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) on behalf of Sri Lanka at the moment.
The local media has reported that Aryasinha was likely to lead the Sri Lanka delegation at the 22nd session of the UNHRC scheduled to begin later this month. Secretary of the External Affairs Ministry Karunatilaka Amunugama has said that Aryasinha has been asked to head the activities on behalf of the country in the UNHRC. He has noted that the Sri Lankan government delegation to visit Geneva for the sessions is yet to be named. However, earlier reports said that the President's human rights envoy, Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe would head the Sri Lankan delegation at the UNHRC as he has don in the previous sessions.
