Wickremasinghe has raised a point of order in the House and complained against Azwer's actions towards the opposition members when he is at the Chair. The Opposition Leader has noted that Azwer had allocated an additional five minutes from the opposition time to Democratic National Alliance (DNA) parliamentarian Tiran Alles. He has added that he had not been given the opportunity to respond when Alles had referred to him on several occasions in his speech. Speaker Rajapaksa has said he would inquire into the matter and take immediate action if there was any shortcoming by any presiding parliamentarian. Wickremasinghe ridiculed Alles for not speaking in the parliament since his election to the House in 2010. Alles in response pointed out that all the opposition leaders before Wickremasinghe built an effective opposition during their tenures and changed the governments to get a people-friendly government into power but the present opposition leader hasn't been able to achieve that despite spending a large amount of public funds.
