Former LTTE international Wing Leader and Chief Arms Procurer Kumaran Pathmanathan alias KP is yet to decide on entering politics.
Speaking during an event in Jaffna Pathmanathan has said
that he has no immediate plans to enter politics and his entrance to politics would be decided by time and people. He has added that the international community had politically weakened the LTTE. He has explained that while political negotiations should not go beyond one year, the negotiations mediated by the international community between the LTTE and the government had continued for five years. According to Pathmanathan, there was no proper outcome from the negotiations that dragged on for years. Following his arrest by Sri Lankan security forces in August 2009 from his hideout in a South Asian country, Pathmanathan has played an instrumental role to mediate between diaspora Tamil groups and the Sri Lankan government, and with his mediation several diaspora Tamil groups who remained as LTTE supporters have visited the country to witness the development programs in the war-torn region. -->
