Jaffna GA transferred to Presidential Secretariat - report

Mrs. Imelda Sukumar, the Government Agent of Jaffna in Northern Province has been assigned a post at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo with immediate effect, local media reports said today.
However, the government has not officially announced the assignment of Mrs. Sukumar who, as the most senior civil servant is reportedly in the Special Grade of the Sri Lanka Civil Service. Local media reports speculated that the experienced civil servant would be appointed as a Secretary to a line ministry. According to the report, GA for Batticaloa Arumainayagam Suntharam is transferred to Jaffna and the GA for Vavuniya Mrs. P.S.M. Charles will take up the post as GA for Batticaloa.
