Party leaders of Sri Lanka's governing United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) are asked to hand in proposals on the implementation of the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC) report.
The government has sought the proposals of all coalition party members of the UPFA on the LLRC report and its implementation. The decision was made at a party leaders' meeting held at the Temple Trees on Wednesday. Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), Minister Maithripala Sirisena has said that political party leaders in the government have been asked to discuss the LLRC recommendations with their party members and submit their proposals on implementing the Commission's recommendations. The party leaders have been handed copies of the LLRC recommendations by the External Affairs Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris.
