Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) today escorted four Tamil Nadu fishermen, who were stranded in Sri Lankan territorial waters ,and handed them over to the Indian Coast Guard.
Sri Lanka Naval vessel P 484 attached to the Northern Naval Command and the Coast Guard vessel CG 46 escorted the fishermen and handed over the fishermen and their fishing trawler to Indian Coast Guard Ship Vigraha in the seas off Delft at the International maritime Boundary Line (IMBL), the Sri Lankan Navy said. The four Tamil Nadu fishermen left for fishing from Jegathapattinam in India on January 25 were stranded in Delft when their trawler suffered a mechanical failure and drifted to Delft island in the Palk Strait.
