Sri Lanka Cricket considering re-appointing Sangakkara as captain

Local media quoting Sri Lanka Cricket sources reported that the cricket authorities of the island are trying to approach Kumara Sangakkara to get him to accept the captaincy of the national team again.


Media reports say that a proposal is to be made to the ex-captain to accept the captaincy from January next year.

Sangakkara resigned from the captaincy immediately after the Cricket World Cup this year.

However, reports further say that Sangakkara is firm in his decision to not to accept the captaincy.

The authorities are reportedly approaching in unofficial ways before making an official proposal, reports said.
