Sri Lanka's Tamil party, Tamil National Alliance (TNA) is in the process of preparing a set of proposals on the devolution of power to be handed over to the government.
TNA parliamentarian Mavai Senathirajah has told the media that the party is planning on handing over the set of proposals when it meets the government on April 27.
He has said the TNA and the government have agreed to meet on April 7 and 27 to further discuss core issues.
According to Senathirajah, the discussion between the government and the TNA is expected to pave the way for a permanent solution to the ethnic issue and address the grievances of the Tamils.
On April 7, the TNA is to raise the issues of the dismantling of High Security Zones, the release of remaining alleged LTTE cadres from rehabilitation centers and resettlement of Tamil civilians.
The first round of talks between the TNA and the government held on January 10 focused on the economic and social issues of the Tamils. The second round of talks was held on February 3.
MPs Suresh Premachandran, Mavai Senadhiraja and M.A.Sumanthiran will represent the Tamil National Alliance delegation while Ministers Rathnasiri Wickramanayaka, Nimal Siripala de Silva, and Prof. G.L. Peiris will participate for the government.
