Sri Lanka major opposition party Working Committee to meet today

The working committee of Sri Lanka's major opposition United National Party (UNP) is to meet today after the long-drawn leadership crisis was settled last week.

Party leader Ranil Wickremasinghe will preside at the meeting that is to be held in the party headquarters Sirikotha this afternoon.

The committee will review the report on the local government election submitted by the UNP General Secretary, party sources say.

Meanwhile, the party is to discuss appointing a national organizer also.

The UNP Working Committee is to be chosen by the party advisory committee again under the new constitution in April, party sources say.
