A total of 82 nominations,including that of Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister M K Stalin were filed today on the second day of filing of nominations for the April 13 Tamil Nadu Assembly Polls.
The highest number of nominations were received from Cuddalore (eight), while Kolathur, Pallavaram and Tiruppur (North) assembly constituencies received three each, a press release from the chief electoral officer here said. Official sources said Stalin, contesting from Kolathur constituency, along with his partymen filed their nominations, Meanwhile, an FIR was registered against DMK candidate of R K Nagar constituency P K Sekar Babu for allegedly distributing two tricycles at Washermenpet yesterday. The flying squad appointed by District Election Officer seized the tricycles while inspecting vehicles at Washermenpet The squad had also seized Rs 15.39 lakh unaccounted cash from a vehicle during an inspection at Anna Nagar which was was later handed over to Income Tax officials.
