The President of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Tadateru Kono' is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka tomorrow.
The aim of his visit is to assist flood operations and to celebrate volunteerism in the island, a release by the IFRC states.
Kono' hopes to meet President Mahinda Rajapaksa, External Affairs Minister Prof. G. L. Peiris, and the Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa during his visit.
He is also scheduled to travel to the north, the east, and the south of Sri Lanka to assess the aftermath of floods and also to witness the work of the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society and the IFRC in these parts of the country.
