A former coalition partner of Sri Lanka's Democratic National Alliance has accused its main constituent, Marxist Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) of siphoning DNA funds.
Nava Sihala Urumaya Leader Sarath Manamendra has accused the JVP of not accounting the funds received from the international community for the DNA.
He said that nothing has been revealed about the Rs. 80 million, which JVP MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake and the group received during their recent foreign tour.
According to Manamendra, the JVP was using Fonseka to promote the party and to get funds.
He also said the JVP was now trying to promote former Chief Justice Sarath N. Silva in former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka's place.
The executive committee of the DNA ousted Manamendra and sacked his party from the alliance last month.
