Speaker warns Sri Lankan parliamentarians for interrupting proceedings

Speaker of the Sri Lankan parliament today warned governing and opposition party members against interrupting parliamentary proceedings.

Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa warned the legislators, especially governing party MP A.H.M. Azwer saying that the MP would be removed from the Chamber if he continued to interrupt the proceedings.

The commotion in the House had commenced after opposition United National Party MP Dr. Jayalath Jayawardena had started to make a special comment in parliament today over the allegations leveled against him.

The government yesterday accused Jayawardena of conspiring against the government in the international fora.
