Sri Lankan minister says main opposition does not have a future

A government minister says the United National Party (UNP), the main opposition party of Sri Lanka does not have a future even if there's a change in the party leadership.

Social Integration Minister Vasudeva Nanayakkara addressing a public gathering in Kandy has said that the UNP needs to make a change in its attitude within the party.

Nanayakkara has said that regardless of the various criticisms leveled against the government by the UNP and the Marxist Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), the government will continue its progressive path.
