The President inspected the vessels in a Sri Lanka Navy's fast attack craft. Eight foreign war ships arrived here for the 60th anniversary celebrations along with Sri Lankan Navy war ship SLNS Sayura, participated in this event.

Indian Navy sailing ship INS Tharangani and war ship INS Mysore, Russian War Ship Admiral Vinogradov, Pakistani war ship PNS Sulfikar and Iranian vessel IRID Alvand gave guard of honour to the President.
First lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa, Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga, Navy Commander Vice Admiral Thisara Samarasinghe, Pakistan's High Commissioner in Colombo Ms. Seema Illahi Baloch and foreign naval officers and diplomats also participated in the event.
Meanwhile, Navy media spokesman Captain Athula Senarath said the Navy exhibition organized in the Colombo Light House premises has been extended up to the 15th of this month. The exhibition is open to the public from 10.30 a.m. to 10.30 p.m.
