Warrants issued for 17 Sri Lankan university students over assault and damaging public property

Anuradhapura Chief Magistrate and Additional District Judge Darshika Wimalasiri issued warrants for 17 students of Sri Lanka's Rajarata University to appear before the court on November 24.

The 17 students include male and female undergraduates from the faculties of Management and Social Sciences.
They are accused of attacking the students taking exams within the University premises and damaging public property last month.

Five female students who were sitting for the examinations despite a boycott of student unions were injured in the incident.
