The Sri Lankan government has decided on hours for visitors from the South to visit the Jaffna Library.
The decision on announcing visiting hours at the Jaffna Library was made following a meeting held at the library under the patronage of Traditional Industries and Small Enterprise Minister Douglas Devananda with the library officials.
It has now been reportedly decided to permit visitors with immediate effect to the Jaffna Library for sight seeing purposes only between 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. in groups of 25.
The Minister had proposed the visiting hours following complaints that the library staff and members were inconvenienced by the large influx of visitors to the library from other parts of the country.
