Sri Lanka court orders report on prison attack

Sri Lanka's Colombo Magistrate's Court today ordered the police to submit a full inquiry report into the Sunday's attack on the police by the prison inmates at the high security Welikada Prison.

Additional Magistrate Praharsha Ranasinghe after considering the preliminary report submitted by the Borella Police on the incident where 46 police officers received injuries, ordered the police to submit the report on the investigation on November 30th.

According to the state-run Independent Television, the police have told the court the raid was conducted after obtaining a search warrant from the court. The Police have seized mobile phones, batteries, and a small quantity of drugs during the raid.
