Forum of Tamil Political Parties of Sri Lanka preparing proposals on solving ethnic issue

Sri Lanka's Forum of Tamil Political Parties is currently in the process of preparing a set of proposals outlining a political solution to the ethnic issue.

Former Tamil National Alliance (TNA) parliamentarian and General Secretary of the Tamil National Liberation Alliance, M.K. Sivajilingam has told local media that the Forum would hand over the proposals to the government in December.

According to him, the Forum has met 10 times so far and has had lengthy discussions on solving the ethnic issue.

The Forum comprises 10 Tamil parties excluding the TNA.

However, Sivajilingam has said that he along with a few other representatives of the Forum would meet TNA Leader R. Sampanthan on October 28 or 29 and extend an invitation for the TNA to join the Forum.
