Sri Lanka's main opposition United National Party (UNP) said today that it has sought a draft of the constitutional amendments proposed by the government for the party to decide on its stance.
UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake told the media that the request was made when a UNP delegation led by party leader Ranil Wickremasinghe met with President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Monday (23).
Attanayake said the government has promised to hand over the document by the end of the month.
