Sri Lanka's ex-Army Commander indicted on 41 more counts

Recently convicted ex-Army Commander of Sri Lanka General (Retired) Sarath Fonseka has been indicted on 41 counts, informed the Attorney General's Department to the Colombo Chief Magistrate Rashmi Singappuli as the case against Fonseka was summoned.

The indictment filed in Colombo High Court includes counts related to employing Army deserters, paying salaries and providing lodging to them.
The indictment is relevant to Senaka Perera who was the secretary to Sarath Fonseka during his presidential campaign.
Perera was remanded until August 30 while Fonseka is in custody at Navy Headquarters.
Two more cases are also being heard against Fonseka in High Court in addition to the two courts martial.
