Sri Lanka's eastern fisheries harbour near completion

Deputy Minister of Ports and Aviation of Sri Lanka Rohitha Abeygunawardana says that the construction of Oluvil Harbor in the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka is near completion and the construction company will hand over it to the state on September 15
.Construction of the Oluvil Harbour commenced in May 2008 and it was to be completed in two stages.
The 56-hectares harbor consists of a fisheries harbor and a trade complex. The 330 meters long trade complex is annexed to an eight meter deep jetty as well.
The fisheries harbor consists of a fish market, a freezing facility, and other equipment.
The government of Denmark provided 46.1 million Euro in aid to the Sri Lankan government for the construction of Oluvil Harbor.
