Provincial Councilor's residence attacked in Sri Lanka

The house of a governing party provincial councilor in Sri Lanka's North Central Province had come under attack this morning.


A group of unidentified men had thrown a grenade at the residence of UPFA North Western Provincial Councilor Sarath Illangasinghe in Thirappane, Anuradhapura.
No one was hurt in the attack as the Provincial Councilor is currently overseas.
Police Spokesperson SP Prishantha Jayakody has told the local media that the incident had occurred in the early hours of the morning and a vehicle had been damaged in the attack.
