DNA MP General Fonseka says lawlessness prevailed in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka' former Army Commander and Democratic National Alliance (DNA) parliamentarian retired General Sarath Fonseka told Parliament today (3) that lawlessness prevailed at present in the country.

General Fonseka made this statement when he informed parliament that despite a court order permitting him to attend parliamentary functions without any hindrance, he was prevented from attending consultative committee meetings of ministries held in the parliamentary complex.
During parliamentary sessions last month, General Fonseka raised a privileges issue where he claimed that he was prevented from attending two consultative committee meetings.
General Fonseka emphasized the need for good governance in the country where citizens' rights are upheld.
